Ken’s BSc in Computer Science and MBA complement his Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Planner designations to create a uniquely multidisciplinary outlook. His experience includes over 30 years as a CA, several terms as fulltime faculty at the University of Calgary, and 3 years as primary instructor for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta (ICAA) SR&ED course.
Ken has worked with the SR&ED program since 1990, advocating for hundreds of firms claiming a diverse range of projects from biotechnology to oil and gas to software. He also served as the inaugural Chairman of the Joint CRA/Industry IT Oversight Committee for the SR&ED Prairie Region. Ken is an active participant in the angel investor community through his membership in Venture Alberta.
Bob Place
Director of Research
Bob brings to his position a wealth of experience gained as the Assistant Director of the SR&ED Program at The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) from 1985 to 2002. As leader of the Prairie Office, he managed the administration of thousands of claims in all types of industries. He was also instrumental in shaping the program into its current form through his national-level contributions to its numerous improvements. Bob provides guidance on complex interpretational and administrative issues on both scientific and financial matters related to SR&ED.
Graham has been involved in advising clients and evaluating the eligibility of SR&ED projects, either as a claimant or tax preparer, for over 7 years. In addition, he spent more than 10 years in research and development as a technical specialist, manager, and part owner in Adaptive Engineering Limited, a Calgary-based SME.
His diverse background includes experience in mechanical design, biomechanics, destructive testing, simulation software, human resources, manufacturing and general management. Graham holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Calgary.
Eva Nagy

Special Projects
Eva holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Economics as well as a Certified Financial Planner designation. She has over 10 years experience in preparing and managing SR&ED claims. Prior to joining TSGI, Eva worked in the field of energy industry economics, in natural gas pipelines, heavy oil upgraders, and the Alberta oil sands. Eva was also involved with studies on deregulation of the electricity industry through her work with the Canadian Energy Research Institute.
